The information NZRIS holds
NZRIS allows you to explore who funds SI&T research across New Zealand, who conducts this research and the key people involved, what research projects have been completed or are underway, and high-level information on research outputs.
The information NZRIS holds is provided by New Zealand’s research funders and the organisations conducting funded research. This information is standardised and presented in a consistent user-friendly way.
Information limitations
As NZRIS relies on information supplied by funders and research organisations, the availability and completeness of information about research undertaken prior to the launch of NZRIS is dependent on what was collected and reported at the time of funding.
Absence of a record does not necessarily mean absence of activity; it may reflect privacy settings or information not yet supplied.
NZRIS displays ANZSRC codes and percentage allocations as provided by data providers in their submissions. Where a 2020 ANZSRC code has not been supplied for a grant, NZRIS applies an automated classification process that uses project descriptions and linked research outputs to assign the most appropriate ANZSRC 2020 code.
